Pierce's Dedication

I know, I know - Two posts in one day! Oh you are so lucky. But I hadn't written about Pierce's dedication yet and, obviously, it is a big deal. So here we are again.

Sunday we had Pierce dedicated at our new church. Our friends Mrs. Val and Mr. Harvey were able to attend which was very, very special. Pierce smiled the whole way through, even when they put oil on his head, and he tried to eat the microphone.

Tristan really enjoyed being so close to all the band instruments on stage but soon grew bored and wowed the crowd with his new scary monster face.

A fun time was had by all.

There is nothing that will give us greater joy or peace than knowing that our children have Christ in their heart. I think this is the most important role we have as parents - To be living examples of how we hope that they will live. Hopefully we can be good enough but inevitably, like everything else, it is in God's hands. This is a hard concept to grasp when it concerns myself. It's nearly impossible when it comes to our kids.

Secondly, we wish happiness and comfort. There is nothing that gets me right in the gut more than my kids' laughs. Both of them are such happy kids and it really warms a parent's heart.

Pierce is now signing "milk" and "more" and he eats like a garbage disposal. He is so over the baby food. He lunges for whatever is on our plates so we've started dicing it up for him to eat. He feels very big but this creates quite a mess for the cleanup crew. It's worth it. He loves it. He is also waving hello and goodbye and giving big, open mouth kisses :) He loves playing peek-a-boo, walking with his walker, and putting sand and grass in his mouth. He has a special blanket he sleeps with (Thank you Randy and Cathy!) and he still loves his bink. He is a happy, happy baby and has added so much to our little family. We couldn't be more thankful.
