I have been wanting to take the kids berry picking for YEARS and this year was finally THE YEAR. We were holding out for a cooler day but I will know better for next year. Summer days only get hotter. We got to pick berries on the very. last. day. they were open. The kids were ECSTATIC.

It may have been the last day of the year for berry picking but we still managed to fill up two big buckets with blueberries and blackberries. We ate smoothies and yogurt parfaits until we couldn't stuff any more in. After that, the kids liked to eat them "straight up." Bwahaha :) We will definitely be doing this again next year!
